This is outright brilliant

Check out this video which makes quite a compelling case for Barack Obama:

You gotta love Jesse Ventura…

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

Back in 1998 I knew fairly little about US politics. I was not hooked to the web yet and so my only source of information on US politics was CNN and perhaps an article or two in “The Economist”. So when Jesse Ventura was elected Governor of Minnesota, I simply thought “Only in America” and went on with my business. I was just thinking “A former Wrestler as a Governor?” Boy was I wrong. I caught him on television a few times in 2000 and was heavily impressed - he really knew his stuff and didn’t give a **** about partisanship. I developed a lot of respect for him as one of the few real straight-talkers in US politics (not the wannabe kind like John McCain). So I was pretty disappointed when he decided against running for a second term in 2002 and have been hoping for his return to politics ever since. Last night I watched this video and thought: “The US need guys like him more than ever…” Just watch:

“Sozialdarwinismus mit menschlichem Antlitz”

Monday, June 4th, 2007

I do not have the time to go into detail right now, but I recently made an important advance in searching for a new concept for society and wanted to post the name on the web to make sure that I get full credit for it (on Google as of now and in academia when I get round to publishing further information). I am also still looking for an appropriate title in English - perhaps “Socialdarwinism with a human touch”? I welcome all suggestions you might have and am willing to share credit for the title in English if you come up with a good suggestion!

Have a successful week!

US Elections

Thursday, November 9th, 2006

Just want to mention something which has been virtually ignored by the media:

Only 33 US Senate seats were up for grabs - 24 went Democrat or Independent, only 9 went Republican - it might only be 51-49 altogether, but 24-9 is a landslide victory, and a statistical miracle. Not one article I read has mentioned this 24-9 figure - I find that quite interesting.

Furthermore, the Democrats nearly won another 10-15 seats in the House, only the power of incumbancy (always worth 2-3%) saved several other Republicans - also a fact ignored by the media, which obviously does not want to communicate how bad this election night really was for the GOP.

Considering that the Democrats did not win this election with a comprehensive message, but only with a “We are not Bush” label, the magnitude of this victory is a miracle.

Two words: “Hell Yeah!”
