You are right - there is no possibility for a dialogue these days. I read some right-wing blogs to get a feeling for what they are thinking and discussing - it's mainly "liberals this" and "liberals that". Rarely do you find an in-depth analysis of issues. It truly is sobering.

I think you will also be relieved to read this: http://www.klotzbucher.com/?p=180

I'm relieved to see that there is someone rebuffing all of the outright BS that is circulating right about now with respect to Mr Obama. It is truly amazing [and sobering I might add] to see how far this country's reactionaries are willing to go to get back into office----but then again, should we really be surprised at this point? Nonetheless, in my own tiny little campaign I have left numerous comments challenging these sorts of lies on many ultra-conservative sites which aren't far off the beaten path from the likes of Rush Limbaugh and such; and although I left nothing specifically critical of conservatives themselves --- only challenged the principles they have chosen to smeer Obama with and my comments were immediately removed. So, there is not even a chance of dialogue to flow from Left to Right ---- it is only Right to Left on their sites. So----let it flow from Right to Left I say, because that's exactly what must ultimately happen anyway. They can resist it all they want, but they will lose in the end, because Change comes whether we like it or not; and it is definitely Change the WE can believe in that WE are after even if they do not believe in it too.

As a libertarian I definitely disagree with some of Obama's proposed policies, but one cannot argue that he lacks substance. Just go to his website and read his proposals.

One can definitely disagree on the merit of his proposals - but he is intelligent, educated and has a level of integrity I have not witnessed in a successful politician in a long time.
